The state of Florida is one of 50 states that allow “direct access” to physical therapy–meaning that a doctor’s order is not required to initiate PT. Thus, you can choose to self-pay or utilize insurance without first seeing a physician. Depending upon the insurance policy you may need a prescription and or authorization. All individual circumstances will be considered before scheduling the initial evaluation. Nassau Physical Therapy employs Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants.

Special services offered by our staff include the following:

Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation:
Designed for people with impairments and disabilities due to disease, disorders or trauma to the muscles or bones. This program can often improved functional capacity, reduce symptoms, and improve the well-being of the individual. This may include pre-and post-operative care, sprains, strains, chronic pain and arthritis.

Kinesiology Taping:
When applied properly, kinesiology tape microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, increasing blood flow. Relieves swelling by creating more space for the congested and compressed capillaries, lymph vessels, arteries and veins. This results in faster removal of the by-products created by inflammation.
Delays fatigue, speeding up recovery for rehab patients and enabling athletes to go stronger, longer.
Cues form by increasing the patient or athlete’s awareness of their body position to help maintain proper alignment and form.
Normalizes muscle tone by realigning the muscles that may be disrupted by injuries. When injured, we typically alter our movement to avoid pain, which can cause future discomfort or even further injury. Through tactical cueing, kinesiology tape reminds you to maintain a good posture, allowing the injury to heal faster.

Manual Therapy:
Skilled hand techniques intended to improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion; induce relaxation, mobilize or manipulate soft tissue and joints; and reduce soft tissue swelling. inflammation, or restriction.
